Laboratory

LaMeRoc (Laboratorio de Mecánica de Rocas)

The facilities of the Rock Laboratory are located in CITEEC and at the Civil Engineering School. The laboratory has a versatile equipment with which it is possible to carry out from basic and advanced tests of great instrumental complexity. The modular conception of the equipment allows its restructuring to adapt to the needs of each project. For this purpose, it has a small mechanical and electronic workshop.

Instrumentation

Electric generator

Column pump for boreholes. 100m of polyethylene tubing. Characterization of the hydrodynamic parameters of an aquifer to measure its capacity and depression of the water table.

Profiler

Profiler for measuring currents in shallow waters with floats on catamarans for use on inverted surfaces. Bluetooth data transmission. Measurement of velocity and depth profiles for the integration of the flow in a section.

Speedometer

Speedometer for measuring the three components of speed in water at one point by the impulse-echo doppler method.Point measurement of water velocity in the laboratory (scale models) or field studies (shallow waters, both fresh and salt). Data recording with internal storage or connected to an acquisition system.

Electromagnetic speedometer

Electromagnetic speedometer for measuring speed in free film in the laboratory and in the field. Measurement of free sheet flow in canals, rivers and sewage pipes, both in the field and in the laboratory.

Bathymetric probe. GPSMAP 256S Model. Garmin

Bathymetry equipment equipped with:
– Control and data recording unit.
