The 40th IAHR World Congress provided an avenue for various researchers from our research group to present our latest findings to the scientific community. The congress took place between August 21rd and 25th, 2023, in Vienna, Austria. In this instance, our participation included Esteban Sañudo and Juan Farfán. Here are the titles of their respective presentations:

Esteban Sañudo:

  • Validation of the 2D/1D model Iber-SWMM on a large-scale physical model.
  • Disseminating flood results to non-technical stakeholders using Hybrid Physical-Digital Twins.

Juan Fernando Farfán-Durán:

  • Optimization of distributed models using evolutionary algorithms and surrogate modeling.

The IAHR, established in 1935, serves as an international, independent organization for engineers and water specialists working across hydro-environmental sciences and practical applications. With a substantial membership base of 4,790 individuals, IAHR’s scope covers an array of fields, from river and maritime hydraulics to water resource development, eco-hydraulics, ice engineering, hydro-informatics, and continued education and training.
