Researchers from the Water and Environmental Engineering Group (GEAMA), Jose Anta and Manuel Regueiro, were in Innsbruck (Austria) attending the Urban Drainage Modelling Conference, which brings together experts in the field of urban drainage, particularly those involved in modelling.

Jose Anta coordinated the workshop “How a Collaborative Research Infrastructure Network Benefits Urban Drainage Modelers,” which showcased the outcomes of the Co-UDlabs project, such as the creation of the international group UDrain, as part of the Joint International Committee on Urban Drainage within the international associations IWA and IAHR.

Manu presented the results of a project developed in collaboration with Swiss entities, “Long-term monitoring of sediment accumulation in gully pots using thermal analysis,” highlighting the practical application of innovative solutions for monitoring urban drainage infrastructure.

Both researchers also participated in the poster session with the following works:

  • Assessment of permeable pavement clogging in the lab. Do we need new standards for it?”. This work was coordinated by GEAMA researchers in collaboration with researchers from the IKT research institute in Germany.
  • Experimental study on transport and retention dynamics of macroplastics in gully pots”. This work presented the results of a master’s thesis that Manu co-supervised with researchers from the Deltares research center and the IHE water institute (Netherlands), Imperial College London (United Kingdom), and the consulting firm SkillsInMotion (Netherlands).
